The Art & Science of Tie-Dye (A Beginner Class!)

🌈 Beginner Tie-Dye + Science Class 🌈

Twist it, squish it, splash it—then learn why it all works!

This hands-on beginner tie-dye class is perfect for kids (and parents!) who want to mix creativity with a little science.

What we’ll cover:

• Soda ash soak & why it matters
• Color wheel tips for the brightest blends
• Simple folding styles: spirals, bullseyes, stripes & spots
• Hands-on dyeing with your own shirt
• Easy rinse-out instructions for home

Before making their final shirt, participants will practice on smaller fabric swatches—so they can see how dyes move and react with the fabric before going all in. Optional pre- and post-class worksheets are available to sneak in extra learning while keeping the fun.

• 📏 Recommended Ages: 7–12
  (Younger kids welcome with a grown-up helper. Older kids & adults welcome too—this class is truly for all ages.)
• 🎨 Come dressed to get permanently messy

📍 Location Note: This venue does not have an elevator. There are two sets of stairs to access the classroom. Please keep this in mind when registering.
